Thanksgiving is all about spending time with family and friends over great food, and New York City chefs are ready to prepare menus that will certainly make you feel thankful. Here are places to celebrate on Thanksgiving or to entertain the family the whole year round.
In Part I, we take a look at some choice locations in Brooklyn, each one offering Brussels sprouts as part of its special menus.
Brooklyn:
Le Comptoir: Join Chef Sebastien Chamaret around his “le comptoir” (counter) where he whips up and serves his creations made with local ingredients. At this new restaurant, Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 12pm-9pm, with à la carte choices or a three-course menu. Appetizers include BCBS (bacon, cheese, burger, sausage) in a blanket, shrimp cocktail, bacon wrapped dates, crab and spinach dip, and butternut squash bisque with duck confit. Stay traditional for your main with the slow-roasted natural turkey breast with chestnut stuffing, sweet mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and herb scented natural jus. Not into turkey? Try the pan-seared monkfish, wild mushrooms risotto, or filet mignon Rossini. Top off your meal with a scrumptious pie, tart, or ice cream sundae.

Traditional accompaniments can be ordered as well for an additional $6 each, including the Yukon gold whipped potatoes, creamed spinach, and apple or pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Start with the pumpkin soup or Autumn Market salad (roasted cauliflower, beets, market greens, balsamic and xv olive oil) before moving on to the roast turkey platter (free range roasted breast, braised thigh, classic stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy); pan-seared trout (Brussels sprouts, hen of the woods mushrooms, black truffle jus); or roasted butternut squash (wild rice and roasted shallots, green bean and mushroom casserole, and cranberry sauce). Make sure to save room for either of the decadent desserts—deep dish chocolate pecan pie with vanilla gelato or pumpkin cheesecake with spiced pepitas and caramel sauce.
